What is American Culture?

There are different cultures within the United States. The United Sates is the third largest country in the world. The population of the United States was built on immigration from other countries. The picture above just describes the different places, words, and or activities us Americans can do. Families and others have their own styles when it comes to American culture. Cultures dress differently due to the seasons, trends, and occupations. There isn't a common language in America. Every language is spoken in the United Sates by the different cultures. Many religious are practiced in the United States. Religion can be very important to the American cultures. American food has different styles of cooking or types of food. The United States is widely known as a mass media production. Art such as music is diverse with different styles, rhythm, and genres. Not all American programs are shown around the world. The United States has millions of fans that follow sports such as: football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and other sports. Many cultures usually support their or another's country team. Many holidays are celebrated only in the United States.
Like many other cultures, Americans thrive on competition. Children are encouraging to work hard, try their best, and participate in sports and other academics or hobbies. Americans believe in the concept of individualism. These individuals are in control of their lives, religious groups, culture, or other groups. All cultures believe that they are different and unique in many ways, but should be treated equally. Nearly every country of the world has influenced the American culture. United States culture has been shaped by the cultures of Native Americans, Latin Americans, Africans, and Asians. The United States is sometimes described as a "melting pot" in which different cultures have contributed their own "flavors" to American culture.
So what you're saying here, I think, is that American culture is defined in part by all the other cultures that are practiced within American borders? And I wonder: what holidays are only celebrated in the United States? March Madness? Can you focus on any cultures in particular that you think represent the whole here? I have found that while the "melting pot" analogy is often used to describe America, others often argue for "assimilation" (dress, language) to show one's true adherence to "America." That's when America is at its worst...

I think that I understand on what you're saying in the first paragraph, which is that everyone's unique culture is what makes up the American Culture. Although when you stated that America doesn't have a common language, do you mean that there isn't an official language or a language that is not known to America which includes to the American Culture? Also, the way you included several factors such Arts and sport makes it interesting to read. You should expand on what holidays are being celebrated in the U.S. that makes it the American Culture. Overall, great blog post!
