How Time Has Changed Language
Ever since we have been a country, the English language has been a key catalyst in driving our successes. For any respective body of people, language is imperative for things to be done, commands to be completed, or feelings to be heard. As we have grown as a world society, the customs and or norms of how we speak to each other has changed drastically.
The way we could see that language has changed overtime is due to how we have subliminally set in place certain standards as to how we should communicate with others. In almost all instances, one can expect that the tone or volume of how they speak can differ the way others interpret us. Many times, as we carry on in our lives, we make decisions on how we should speak to someone whether that is in an office environment, an intense argument, or casually chatting with friends. All these dissimilar environments or situations bring along different people that determine the manner of how one chooses to communicate.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteThe information you’ve provided is very interesting. I think you should add more information about how time has changed language. Did you use any websites to find this information? If you did use websites, don’t forget to add them. In the second paragraph, add different ways we can communicate with each other. I agree, that we do make decisions on how we speak within different environments. Is there more information you can add in the second sentence? By adding more information to the second sentence, it will help explain the details you’ve added. Good job with your research. See you in class!

This is an idea that has legs (or wings) if you continue to develop it. Think of the languages spoken here in America before the Spanish, French, Dutch, and English arrived. There were hundreds of Native American languages, and all these languages together (and the rules of communication when so many different cultural groups start to merge) have evolved the English we speak. Just compare American English to British or Australian English for example--showing different ways of addressing someone, or the varying names of things, shows how much the American language has evolved on this continent. Keep going!
