Suggestion

For the the next set of ENG 112 students, I believe a good topic for blog posts could be education. With education you can talk about how it's failing or progressing. You could also talk about new forms of teaching as well as how teaching differs from the past. Education is an important topic and relevant to today's time.

For the generalized American to write about the American culture , that person would need to have knowledge of all of the cultures that live in the United States and that would just be too difficult. However, for example an Asian or European to write about the American culture, they would more than likely say our stereotypes like: Americans are  fat and love anything fast-food, they are wasteful, they are selfish, they are primed to be offended... etc. A very large majority of Americans fit into these descriptions and the culture is just that.    There are many cultures in every country. The United States is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. People have their own traditions, and celebrate their own holidays differently than other people. Everyone is completely different, and do each thing differently due to their culture and what that person grew up doing. There is no official  language  in America. Every language in the world like Spanish, Chinese, Aerobic etc. are all spoken by a variety of individuals. What defines the American culture is no easy question to answer. America consist of multiple communities that have their own set of customs, ideals, traditions and beliefs that make them who they are. Aside from what each community practices, when they come together as Americans, natives or inhabitants of the United States they form, the closest picture of what the American culture can be seen as. Merriam- Webster defines culture as the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group. All communities in the United States have their own beliefs, forms, and traits. From the way they dress to the way they celebrate holidays.
